Best first hike of the season! One hour, which includes ooohing and ahhhing at different viewing spots along the way. My favorite way to go up is the western most path, getting a peak of Long Pond, Northern Neck, Blue Hill Bay and far in the distance, Blue Hill. Once at the top a big view opens to Southwest Harbor and on to the Cranberries and beyond. Looking to the east, Parkman and Penobscot Peak and even Cadillac can be seen. There used to be a sailboat moored in Somes Sound and you could even catch a glimpse of its mast.
