Beech towards Somes, Available through Cygnet Gallery, Southwest Harbor, ME. 20" x 20" mixed media (collage, acrylic and oil) on birch

Beech mountain is frequently my inaugural hike once I arrive in Maine. My favorite section of the hike was closed on this day. I used the opportunity to try another path to the top, this view opened as I reached the summit and wandered around. I was able to see Somes Sound, the only fiord on the east coast located on Mount Desert Island. This was the same day as "Going a Different Way". It truly is awe inspiring to simply take a different path and see what opens.
