Ocean and Granite-Two totally different elements-one liquid, one solid-one moving about, one sharp & still-one deep teal mixed with sky blue reflections, one pink granite laden with lichen and moss. Each so different from the other, and yet they coexist.

On Somes Sound I take time to see how they interact. The granite forms a barrier along the ocean's edge. The granite breaks the waves as they arrive, but that doesn't stop the waves. The ocean keeps coming in to kiss the rocks and soften their rough edges. They play off each other, one saying stay back, the other moving forward. They each have a job to do and somehow they work together. The ocean offers a caress that the granite cannot resist. Perfect lovers from different worlds, working together to make the other more than what they are.
